MEC’s commitment to sustainability and the natural environment includes green building and selecting innovative mass timber products as the primary building material for its new head office.
The estimated avoided and sequestered greenhouse gases from the wood used in the building is equivalent to removing 618 cars off the road for a year. The total estimated carbon dioxide equivalent avoided by using wood products over other materials in the building is 2,940 metric tonnes.
