This session will explore the challenges of reforestation in a changing climate, and how to navigate them. We will describe the science of matching locally adapted tree populations to future climates. We will present recently published projections of changes in the climatic suitability of BC’s native tree species, and their implications for reforestation policy. Finally, we will demonstrate the use of investment portfolio strategies for managing risk and uncertainty in reforestation.
