About Taiga Building Products

Founded in 1973 by a group of twelve brokers in British Columbia, Taiga Building Products began as Taiga Forest Products. The company expanded rapidly, opening its first distribution center in Calgary in 1974 and establishing its first eastern branch in Port Credit, Ontario, in 1978. In 1987, Taiga launched its first Envirofor wood preservation plant in New Westminster, B.C., later relocating to Langley in 1997. Taiga became a public company in 1993 and has since grown into one of North America’s leading wholesale distributors of building materials, with operations across Canada and the United States and is committed to being North America’s most reliable and efficient distributor of building products. ​
