About Porcupine Wood Products
Porcupine Wood Products Ltd. was established in 1993 in Salmo, British Columbia, in the southeast corner of the province. The facility includes a sawmill with small and large log breakdown lines, a planer mill, and a remanufacturing plant. The business is family-owned and operated, with over 35 years of experience in the forest industry.
Our sawmill manufactures western red cedar logs into decking, fencing, siding, and trim board products that meet the highest-grade standards. Porcupine processes slow-growing second-growth logs with butt diameters of less than 20 inches. These logs produce exceptional lumber with tight grain and small knots—ideal for decking, dimension, fencing, and siding applications.
We produce cedar products that rank among the best available. Our annual production is based on a single-shift capacity of approximately 30 million board feet.
As a fully integrated forest company, our model is to extract the maximum value from the logs we process—from harvesting western red cedar to creating finished products. This approach allows us to make the most of the sustainable wood resources we work with.
