About Gorman Bros. Lumber Ltd.

Gorman Bros. Lumber: A legacy of quality, responsibility, and care.

Gorman Bros. Lumber has been creating “The Finest Boards” since 1951. What began as a small box factory in West Kelowna has grown into a family of companies known as the Gorman Group — committed to producing premium lumber products while upholding values of quality, sustainability, and respect for people and place.

We specialize in 1” boards, crafting each piece to exceed National Lumber Grade Authority (NLGA) or Western Wood Products Association (WWPA) industry standards. Every board receives the signature Gorman edge — a smooth, furniture-like finish that is splinter-resistant, kiln-dried, and heat-treated for stability. Our product line includes a range of select grades and pattern options, packaged in sizes that suit customers locally and across 35+ global markets. While we are proud to supply high-quality lumber worldwide, we do not sell directly to the public — our products are available through distributors.

At our core, we’re more than just a lumber company. We are guided by the founding belief that “a good name is more desirable than great riches.” That principle drives how we do business: from our deep investment in employee safety and inclusion, to our proactive engagement with Indigenous communities, to our long-standing commitment to sustainable forestry.

We manage our forest tenures under a rigorous Environmental Management System and hold both Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) certifications. Our reforestation efforts go above and beyond, planting on average 1.4 million trees annually — nearly double the government requirement. We use low-impact harvesting methods and are proud of our recognition by the Forest Practices Board for our care and transparency in forest stewardship.

Internally, we foster a culture of fairness, opportunity, and belonging. Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, mental health programs, and educational investments aim to create a workplace where every voice matters and every person can thrive.
