Since 1984, CarlWood Lumber has been a supplier of high-quality B.C. hardwoods (red alder, Pacific Coast maple, and western white birch) and softwoods (western hemlock, western red cedar, and Douglas-fir) to wholesale distributors across Canada and the United States, as well as Japan, China, Europe, and Scandinavia. Our main customers include furniture manufacturers, millwork factories, cabinet and moulding producers, and wood importers and distributors.
Founded by Bob and Sylvia Carl, CarlWood grew from a small warehouse in North Vancouver into one of British Columbia’s most trusted hardwood manufacturers. Drawing on Bob’s decades of experience in the family lumber business, the company has remained committed to quality, reliability, sustainability, and integrity. Today, CarlWood continues to uphold these values under the leadership of Doug Carl as president and Cathy Carl as office manager.

Rail Ties is our online catalogue of timber rail products, including rail ties, crossing timbers, car blocking, jack blocks, wedges, bridges, crossing posts, and industrial-grade dunnage. We ship these products throughout North America.
Lumber Store is our online retail location for high-quality lumber in the Metro Vancouver area, offering yellow cedar, Douglas-fir, and western hemlock.
Our facility includes dry kilns, a planer, thin kerf resaw, straight-line rip saw, trim and sticking line, timber framing equipment, and ample storage.
