Since 2000, British Columbia Timberframe has specialized in performance and healthy home design, as well as the manufacturing of custom timber frame home packages and prefabricated building panels. Located in Squamish, B.C., we benefit from access to the world’s finest coastal Douglas-fir, which translates into the industry’s highest grade of select structural timber—exclusively used in every home we build. We ship worldwide and invite you to tour our Squamish factory, where we design, cut, and craft timber frames and prefabricated panels.
These larger, high-quality timbers reduce reliance on heartwood, which can cause shrinking, twisting, and cracking, ensure greater durability and preserve a consistent, natural wood colour ideal for exposed timber frame designs. To ensure longevity and minimal movement in the wood frame, we dry our timbers in specialized RFK kilns and apply a natural stain before shipping to protect them during construction. This thoughtful treatment enhances the timber’s colour and shields it from the elements as your home is built.

Our founder built the first qualified Energy Star home in the Sea to Sky corridor, and we have a certified Passive House consultant on staff through our sister company, Factor Building Panels. Factor designs and manufactures SNIPS (structural, natural, insulated panels), the next generation of SIPs, using natural components that will not off-gas, shrink, or introduce toxins into the home or work environment.
