About Ajia Canadian Building Systems Inc.
AJIA began in 1994, when Norm Morrison and his wife returned from Japan to their hometown in North Vancouver, B.C., to raise a family. In Japan, Norm had built a successful home-building business, and upon his return, his very satisfied Japanese clients insisted that he continue to build for them. Rising to the challenge, Norm devised a way to prefabricate the home package panels with locally sourced Canadian lumber and ship them overseas. And with that, AJIA – which means “Asia” in Japanese – was born.
In 2000, after delivering several home projects to friends and family in B.C. as “favours,” Norm realized that there was a market for custom-designed prefabricated homes in Canada and the USA. That’s when AJIA began prefabricating recreational home packages for the Canadian market.
In 2012, AJIA further expanded to become a fully licensed home builder, offering complete building contractor services from design to turn-key, with the classic AJIA prefab home package – of any size – as the star of the show.
Since then, AJIA has continued to build beautiful homes even on the most remote and stunning pieces of land in B.C. and ship their home packages around the world. Proud to be owned locally and yet operating globally, AJIA believes in delivering a genuine product that meets the desires of the client while still maintaining all the advantages that come with a prefab construction system.
“Prefab” might not mean what you think it does… unless you think it means greener building solutions in every sense of the word! A prefabrication building system is better for the environment and better for your budget.
In North America over the past few years, prefab home kits – which are packaged homes that can be shipped around the world – and home package building, which is completed here in B.C. by our licensed build team, have become recognized as one of the most environmentally friendly custom-building processes that can be used.
