Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will officially pronounce the Great Bear Rainforest part of the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy. The initiative was launched in 2015 to create a network of forest conservation initiatives involving all 53 countries of the Commonwealth. As part of the network, regions share ideas and innovations about forest conservation.
To commemorate the visit of Their Royal Highnesses and celebrate the induction into the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy initiative, Premier Christy Clark announced today a new $1-million Great Bear Rainforest Education and Awareness Trust.
