Brock Commons Tallwood House virtual tour now available to explore

June 21, 2018

Highlighting the University of British Columbia’s commitment to sustainability and a need for increased student residence spaces, Brock Commons Tallwood House showcases how mass timber is used as a practical, yet innovative, building material solution in a high-rise application to improve the performance with a renewable resource.

Currently the tallest contemporary mass timber hybrid structure of its kind in the world standing at 18 storeys (54 meters) in height, construction was completed less than 70 days after the prefabricated components arrived on site, approximately two months faster than a typical project of this size.

With the recent launch of a virtual tour, you can now explore within this one-of-a-kind building and learn about the construction process, design, performance and the environmental benefits of buildings with wood.
