Recognizing excellence in wood architecture, the Canadian Wood Council recently announced the 2017 Wood Design & Building Award recipients. The council said that the selected winners were thoughtfully designed and highlight wood’s structural, aesthetic and functional qualities.
B.C.-based buildings that were recognized include:
- Special Jury Award – Technical Innovation: Brock Commons Tallwood House, Acton Ostry Architects Inc.
- Sustainability Forestry Initiative – Sponsorship Award: Solana, Murdoch & Company Architecture + Planning Ltd.
- Award of Honour – Audain Art Museum, W, Patkau Architects
- Award of Merit – Pause, DBR / Design Build Research, Alsu Sadrieva
