Comparing the impacts of steel, concrete and timber structures
Created for developers, architects and engineers in the early stages of a building project, timberX is an online concept design tool that can help you better understand the impacts of your structural solutions. This includes the approximate weight, cost, overall depth and embodied carbon of steel, concrete and timber options. Simplified graphics and charts aid in visualizing the tradeoffs of different material selections, helping design teams narrow in on an optimized structural solution.
This tool was developed by WSP Canada Inc. with costing partner BTY Global, and peer-reviewed by Timber Engineering Ltd.
