British Columbia is home to a wide variety of wood species used for specialty products – and the companies that manufacture them. Species such as spruce and bigleaf maple are used for musical instruments; Douglas-fir, western red cedar, pine and alder used for high-end interior millwork and mouldings; and local maple is crafted into custom children’s furniture and toys.
